Welcome to the Double N (Noida & NIESBUD)

tusar

We took an elongated bus ride to Noida, which is situated just outside of Delhi.  We took this hour and forty-five minute ride to visit the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development in India or NIESBUD.

NIESBUD was setup 24 years ago in 1983 and currently employs 40 people.  They help build entrepreneurship trainers that will help others.  NIESBUD"s mission is to stimulate support & sustain entrepreneurship & small business through training, education, research, consultancy and other interventions in India & throughout the globe.  Along with them, three other national institutions throughout India (Guwahati, Ahmedabad, & Hyderabad) do the same type of work.  In addition, every state in India has its own institution for entrepreneurship.

One of our speakers, Mr. Gupta, said that entrepreneurship was not a profession of choice and was chosen out of compulsion. Over time India will come to accept entrepreneurship more.
